ABOUT THE EVENT

Paul Henke has led an extraordinary life. Born the son of a coalminer, his ambition led him out of the villages of South Wales to the hallowed halls of the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth. Paul qualified as a bomb and mine disposal expert and eventually headed up a crack team of specialist divers. He was promoted and took command of various mine sweepers and mine hunting ships. In the course of his duties, Paul survived a machine gun attack by the IRA. During this time he helped train Prince Charles who not only makes a cameo appearance in the first Nick Hunter book but has also commented on it. The King wrote a charming letter to Paul saying how pleased he was to have been included in the book. After leaving the Navy, Paul spent some time in Nigeria in charge of a saturation diving system. He has travelled extensively, collecting background material for his work.

Paul has three genres:  The Tears Books are historical adventure sagas. They describe the joys and heartaches of the Griffiths family against the backdrop of the history of the time. His Action Thrillers are divided into the Nick Hunter stories and the role he plays in TIFAT (the International Force Against Terrorism) and a number of stand-alone thrillers.  Paul’s third genre consists of  the Gumshoe Novellas about a New York Private Investigator in the 1940s and 1950s.
